Our Story
As today's industry and technology advance, a concerning reality emerges: many of the world's ancient skills are slowly fading into obscurity. Enter Apripex, an emerging brand committed to preserving China's non-traditional skills and ensuring their continuity across generations. Collaborating with traditional artisans and boasting a robust supply chain, Apripex hails from Guizhou-southwest of China, a culturally rich yet economically disadvantaged mountainous region. Here, skilled craftsmen have inherited the art of plant-dyeing from their forebears but struggle to reach a wider audience due to geographic isolation and limited earnings. Apripex's mission extends beyond borders, aiming to globalize Chinese non-traditional skills while empowering artisans to improve their livelihoods and fulfill their aspirations of overcoming poverty.
In the world, the majority of groups with meager incomes are unable to make ends meet, so we will set up a common help charity fund project, for every product purchased, we will donate $1 to help the poor and backward areas.
What are Chinese non-traditional skills?
Chinese non-traditional skill-vegetable dyeing, a gift from nature.
Botanical Dyeing - A color with temperature. The use of natural plant dyes to color textiles is known as "vegetable dyeing".
In Xunzi's "Persuasion", "Green out of blue is better than blue", and in "The Book of Songs", "Green belt" and "Green clothes and yellow clothes". These are descriptions of the extraction and application of plant colors. In the dimension of history, plant dyeing can be traced back to the Zhou Dynasty more than 3,000 years ago. In ancient China, the Zhou Dynasty had an official position to manage dyeing - the official of dyeing grass - also known as the dye man. In the Qin Dynasty, there was a Dyeing Division, in the Tang and Song Dynasties, there was a Dyeing Institute, and in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there was a Blue Indigo Institute. Dyes such as minerals and plants are extracted from nature, and the five colors are called green, yellow, red, white and black, and then the five colors are mixed to obtain other colors.
In today's trend of eco-friendly nature, Apripex uses flowers, grasses, trees, stems, leaves, fruits, seeds, etc. from the natural world to research and create plant dyes and incorporate them into our lives. Unlike chemical dyes, Apripex's dyes come from the plant world and bring beautiful colors back to nature and the environment. Using nature's plants as dyes is not only green and safe, but also medicinal and edible. The best gift we can give to our families should be the best products from nature, natural and harmless. We all like to buy a variety of decorative items at home, such as: Muppets, pillows, bouquets, paintings, etc. In today's industrial age, everyone uses a lot of chemical dyes to make these products in order to pursue efficiency, and these chemicals only cause different degrees of harm to the human body, especially for pregnant women, children, and the elderly. However, Apripex's products are different in that our production process is purely handmade and does not rely on machines to make them, and our dyes and raw materials are green. The traditional dye process-vegetable dyeing, combined with today's art, is environmentally friendly, green and healthy for peace of mind.
Apripex's thousand-year-old techniques are used to recreate the lifestyle and wearing experience of ancient people. Through the plant-dyed fabrics, we can observe and experience the skills with memories. This is the temperature of humanity.
